The Skippers concept is the product of over twenty years experience operating fish and chips shops. From selecting the raw materials to the way we serve our customers, all procedures are tried and tested. It has proved to be a winning formula time and time again, although we do need to constantly review and improve the way we work to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.
The Crook family have owned several shops in the Preston area, building a reputation for the quality of their food and the high levels of service they provide. Operating under the family name for many years the decision was made to move away from the family name towards creating a brand and Skippers was born.
In 2005 Andrew won the Trainee of The year Award at the National Seafood Awards sponsored by Seafish. In 2010 we won the Potato Council Perfect Portion Competition, beating 800 other shops Andrew currently holds the position of National Vice President of the National Federation of Fish Firers, and is also a trainer at the National Federation’s training school in Leeds.
The next few years will involve a lot of hard work, with a lot of exciting changes as the company grows. The Fish and Chip industry is currently going through a period of rapid change and we at Skippers are poised to be at the forefront in this area. This will only be made possible by having a committed and adaptable team working hard to extend the welcome and experience visitors at skippers have come to expect.
