National Fish and Chip Day took place on the first of June this year and to help celebrate I headed down to London to help out on the Fish and Chip Giveaway at Trininty House on Tower Hill. My friends from Kingfisher Fish and Chips in Plymouth brought their van for the second year running to cook fish and chips for the masses. We fired up the friers at 8am and only stopped cooking at 4pm and served hundreds of people from all over the world… even Euxton!
It was a great carnival atmosphere with people saitting together and chatting, something that doesnt happen often in London. It is exacly what fish and chips is about and what a great way to celebrate it!
This location is fantastic, very close to the Tower of London and Fenchurch Street train station, to there is plenty of passing trade.
We turned the forecourt into a beach scene, with surfers, deck chairs, a giant bucket and spade.. even a sand put lol.
I have been in fish and chips for 21 years and currently hold the position on President of the National Federation of Fish Friers
