in January I attended the National Fish and Chip Awards. This event is the highlight of the Fish and Chip calendar and where the cream for the fish and chip industry is celebrated.
The awards are organised by Seafish and hosted by Mark Sergeant, a Michelin starred chef. and have over 700 people in attendance.
It is an honour to present an award at this event each year as part of my role as NFFF Preseident and this years winner of the Quality Award Champion Award is the Real Food Cafe. The main award winners, Independent Takeaway was the Cod’s Scallops in Nottingham. Drywite Young Fish Friers of the Year winner was Charlie Collins of FryDales in Leicester.
